Kellie & Jason’s Wedding Trailer

September 2nd, 2010 by John under Trailers, Videography, Weddings

This is our first “Official” trailer for the 2010 season and we are so excited to show it today. Kellie and Jason were a dream to work with and gave us so many amazing things to shoot and told some great stories throughout the day.

This wedding had so many great details from the custom designed programs, invitations and dinner menu’s (all designed by the the bride, Kellie) as well as some out of this world floral designs by Jenn at Modern Day Floral.  Of course I can’t leave out Kellie’s fantastic dress from Bridal Elegance and the fantastic reception venue at Cascade Hills Country Club who also made the wedding cake.

But enough with the details… and on with the video!   Play.  Enjoy.

Andrea + Nick’s “Save the Date” Trailer

August 16th, 2010 by John under Trailers, Weddings

While I know the idea of a “Save the Date” video is not completely new or original, it is definitely NOT something many people are doing yet … but they should!  :)

I actually had the idea to create a save the date video about 2+ years ago and have been waiting for the perfect time to launch it as a service I provide.  But it wasn’t until recently that I finally got the chance to put my ideas in action and make this new product available to my wedding clients.  Today I am so excited to finally be able to show my spin on this newer concept and officially launch this new service!

I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to not only film this new trailer, but also take Andrea and Nick’s engagement pictures in Northport, Michigan up in the Leelanau peninsula (which I will be posting soon).  I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with… outgoing, creative, willing, bold, flexible, excited, and of course very photogenic. :)   Needless to say I’m excited to have my team film and photograph their wedding with me next year!

Below is their save the date trailer.  I hope its the first of many more to come.  Now crank up your speakers and enjoy!

Kevin & Casey’s Wedding

June 16th, 2010 by John under Weddings

I feel blessed.  Blessed to continually have the opportunity to work with amazing clients.  I am so thankful to be able to not only love what I do, but love the people I work with in the process.  Since our engagement session back in December and even before that, I had the opportunity to really get to know Kevin and Casey … so when the wedding day came it was like I was photographing friends… not clients. :)

Kevin and Casey were a joy to be around all day, and in addition to doing their photographs I also had the privilege to have my all star film crew filming every moment along side of me.  So be sure to watch for the trailer to come in the near future!

There were some fun little side stories through out the day so I’ll do my best to add some commentary along some of the highlights below…

You could say that “Believe” was the theme for the wedding, but really it is a theme for Kevin and Casey’s lives.  There have been some really difficult times that have come their way  since I’ve known them, and to see them come through it all has been such a blessing.  They couldn’t have picked a better theme for starting and their married lives together.  There are sign’s that say “Believe” all around their new home… so cool.

While on the way to the church, Casey remembered that the marriage contract had been left behind.  Of course turning back to get it would mean delaying the wedding by at least 15 to 20 minutes if not more, but how can you skip this critical part of the day?  Needless to say we did a “180″ and headed back.  This shot was taken while Casey was waiting for her Sister to run in and grab it from the kitchen.  I love how calm she was, and how fun this little “hiccup” became as it could easily have been a cause of stress… but not to Casey.  It will be a fun part of the video for sure as Jay Irwin ran in after and filmed the whole thing.  :)   I think Casey looks absolutely stunning in this shot.

Meanwhile a little while back, Kevin was getting ready and was given a great wedding gift to open from Casey.

Kevin’s face tells the entire story.

Affordable Elegance Floral did the flowers for the event.  These were on the church doors as you came in:

Here, the Father of the Bride lets the guests know that Casey and the wedding party have arrived.  Everyone applauded. :)

1940’s Themed Wedding Teaser

June 11th, 2010 by John under General, Trailers, Videography, Weddings

Couldn’t resist throwing together a little sneak peak of this adorable couple.  Michelle and Joe were smiles the whole day and took their wedding theme of the 1940’s to the hilt with every detail from the vintage cars, bridesmaid dresses, ring bearer outfits and flower girl dresses… even the hairstyles and accessories were vintage.

Though its not shown in this teaser video, they also mixed in some Mexican flair with a live Mariachi band and Mexican food for dinner which really made for a fun combination to go with the 1940’s theme.

It’s short… but a fun one to watch all the same. Enjoy :)
