So I was digging through some 2008 files and came across a few snapshots I grabbed while filming for Lisa’s Trash the Dress photoshoot. I don’ have many though because I was holding the video camera most of the time, but I did snap a few shots here and there.

Ok, I’m not obsessed with the back of Jen’s Dress… but I liked all of these, so in the blog they go!
For the second year in a row, I’ve been privileged to tag along with Lisa from Elite Photography and create a video for her trash the dress sessions. (check out her rockin’ photos from the shoot here).
This year was different from last years in that a) there were only 4 brides instead of 5, b) we went to ALL NEW PLACES and c) my good friend Jen Kroll was actially one of the brides! Lisa also invited Ryan Prins and Lindsey DeYoung to shoot some photos as well.
On a technical note, I have a new version of AVID that does some incredible slow motion effects like I’ve never seen before. This video was my first time playing with these effects… so watch for the super slow motion effects and notice how incredibly smoothly they flow. WOW!

I’m so excited to be writing this post!!! After working on these images since Saturday, I’ve finally finished editing some of my favorite images from an amazing trash the dress shoot I did with one of my brides from 2007.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m currently on a trip to California (my home state), and was able to connect with Mindy who got married in her home state of Michigan, but lives about 5 minutes away from my parents in California (how’s that for a small world). Needless to say I’ve been e-mailing her since her wedding about doing a trash the dress session with her, and now that I’m finally out here… we made it happen!
We were going to get the dress wet, but couldn’t find any water that wasn’t freezing… nice though the weather is out here… but I did manage to get some AMAZING shots of Mindy… who I must say was simply stunning to photograph… and so easy to work with. We had a great time, in and around the shoot… and here are some of the pictures from the TTD session.
We started out at place I used to ride my bike to when I was a kid… up in the hills about 3 miles from my parents house.
Then we drove to a nearby (but somewhat hidden) national park. I say hidden, because it was buried at the end of a residential street, and easily missed. Right off the bat we scored this awesome old VW bug (a favorite car of mine), as well as an old barn with all the fixin’s.
Deeper into the park was this cool cement remains from a building that used to be in the park area.
So I’m not sure if this is weird but I thought I’d post some more favorite shots form a trash the dress shoot I did with Jen Kroll back in September. I recently was doing some touch up work to these images for my website and realized I had missed some amazing shots worthy of posting…. so here they are! I hope they don’t disappoint. : )
You may recall from an earlier post that I would eventually be showing a video I made of a “Trash the Dress” session that Lisa from Elite Photography was shooting. Well the video is finished! Some of you may have already seen it from Lisa’s blog post, but for those who haven’t… here it is! I’m very excited about this video and had a blast editing it. It’s so full of variety … with 5 brides and numerous locations it was easy to keep the shots and content fresh and fun.
My favorite part is actually the 2nd half which is a bit more edgy and faster paced… so be sure to watch the whole thing! : )
