Jori & Josh’s Wedding – Complete with Helicopter Getaway

Well let’s be honest… I’ve been looking forward to this wedding all year long. Ever since I first met with Jori and her parents at my studio I knew we “clicked” and her wedding was going to be fantastic. Of course I hadn’t met Josh before yesterday, but as I expected… he was also amazing as were all of the family and friends involved in the wedding day. Everyone was fun-loving, outgoing and ready to celebrate together, and so that made telling their story so much fun! Add a helicopter getaway in there, and you have a recipe for a unique and glorious wedding day!

This was a “double” wedding for me as I did both photo and video for it, so stay tuned for some video shots of the wedding in near future… but for now here are some of photo highlights of the day!

And here’s the view. The reception was at Chateau Del Mar in Illinois. Note the large white building in the right-center of the image. That’s our destination for the reception!

Playing with Light

This last weekend I was hangin’ with my small group from Ada, and I started messing around with some long exposure shots to get the night sky over Hess Lake in Newaygo… and before I knew it, everyone was getting involved. We came up with some fun stuff together and I must give credit to everyone who helped with these images as It was a group effort.

This will be the wallpaper in my next newsletter. : )

Lexi Turns 2!

There are many joys in life and each one is different. Christmas, seeing old friends, vacations… but today I experienced a new joy I’ve not had before… seeing my daughter enjoy her birthday. I know many people have experienced their kids birthday’s before, but this one was the first time Lexi was old enough to have an idea of what was going on, and thus my first time as a parent watching her enjoy a day… all in celebration of her. I can only imagine what next year will be like, or seeing her on Christmas… I get warm fuzzies just thinking about it. Anyway… I thought you’d enjoy seeing some shots from Lexi’s Birthday today.

On our way to the Meijer Gardens… we had hoped to go to the beach, but Michigan’s warm weather seems to be unemployed as well. : /

She found this tea set at the MG, and fell in love with it.

When she really gets into things, she sticks her tongue out. Soo cute.

Amy’s Parents gave her some birthday money which we spent on her own tea set. She loved it! Our Friend’s the Hidalgo’s came over to share some of the fun (and some cake) with us.

She had been waiting for cake all day. It was the first thing she said when I got her out of her crib this morning. “I’m going to have cake!” – I think the candle’s threw her for a loop here though. he he…

Reedy Boutique Photography Commercials

This has to be one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve worked on in quite some time. It was like I was a kid in a candy store… every where I turned it was fun, enjoyable and I never wanted to leave. From shooting to editing I had a blast with this. I’m actually kind of sad that its over, but also glad to have the project completed. This project was the first thing I filmed using my new “Brevis” 35mm lens adapter and I am just in love with the images that it produces. It’s like I have a whole new set of tools to work with for creating my films.

Here are the 2 versions of the commercial I created for Lori Reedy of Reedy Boutique Photography. The first is the longer (extended) version which will go on Lori’s website, and the second is the TV (30 second) version. Wow its hard to cut things down to 30 seconds. Whew! Hope you likey.
